The 1st Annual Africa Gender Equality Conference (#AGE21) will be a virtual experience, taking place from the 25th till 27th June 2021 and broadcast to the continent from Lilongwe, Malawi. The Conference is expected to bring together over 3,000 participants from government, civil society, academia, gender equality advocates and activists to celebrate strides made in advancing gender equality and discuss solutions to emerging barriers and challenges, chiefly COVID19. Planned to coincide with International Women’s Day, the conference will be held under the UN Women’s 2021 International Women’s Day theme, “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world”, and will present new knowledge, promote truly African solutions, and engage a broad spectrum of voices.
